New on line eLearning course
We
would like to inform you that we have
added more eLearning courses in CARE Academy
which will help staff work on their competencies
in many areas including Project Management,
People Management, Finance and Communication.
Among the more than 50 course added, we
have now 13 Project Management Courses
which are tailored and designed to manage
Projects in Non Governmental Organizations
(NGO’s) . These courses are very interactive
and have a length of 30 minutes to one
hour. The courses includes:
- The Project Management Life Cycle
- The Conceptual Design of Projects
- Planning Projects
- Executing Projects
- Monitoring and Controlling Projects

Fundamentals of Field Office Security
CARE’s
Security Unit and CARE Academy are pleased
to introduce the second installment of
CARE’s security training modules, “Fundamentals
of Field Office Security.” This course
is designed for Safety and Security Focal
Points (SSFP) and other staff responsible
with assisting in the management of safety
and security issues within their field
offices. Along with CARE’s Personal Safety
and Security Awareness course, this training
module is part of CARE’s effort to help
promote a security culture within our

CARE Academy launches a new course: Addressing
poverty and social injustice
This
course follows on its prerequisite from
the 2006 academy course “CARE’s approach
to ending poverty.” In this course, you
will explore the unifying framework in
more depth and get a sense of how CARE
is adopting a programmatic approach in
order to have lasting impact upon poverty
and social injustice. You also will see
how CARE’s vision, mission, programming
principles and unifying framework relate
to the theory of change laid out in the
new Strategic Plan of CARE USA. See

Developing Skills related to Change and
Transition Management
Country
Offices are encouraged to participate
in this hands-on, practical program designed
to help managers and staff as COs deal
with and implement changes resulting from
either adapting to the demands of their
environment or new country, regional or
global strategies. The program includes
a half-day session for individuals and
a 1.5 day session for managers. Programs
are led by CARE L&OD staff who are
certified in the proven Daryl R. Conner
(Change Management) and William Bridges
(Transition Management) approaches. See

Courses Now Available
In
collaboration with the USAID Global Health
eLearning Center, CARE Academy is pleased
to introduce 20 new health related courses,
which are especially relevant for CARE
staff working on health related projects.
These courses are ideal for learners from
many disciplines and positions, and are
designed to expand knowledge in key public
health areas and offer access important
up-to-date technical information. All
courses are available at no cost, and
can be accessed 24 hours a day from any
