Coaching has varied approaches depending on the outcome you wish to achieve. It is important to understand the difference between the different styles before you choose an approach that best fits your needs:

  • Skills Coaching-Based on learning new skills and knowledge; Goals are simple and clear; Coaches use personal knowledge and expertise;
  • Perfomance Coaching-Based on learning competencies directly linked to a position or role; Goals are linked to organizational needs and/or address current performance; Coaches act as both and expert and facilitator;
  • Developmental Coaching-Based on learning about the individual and how to build individual capacity; Goals are linked to personal development and increased capacity as a whole; Coaches act as a reflective partner and promote self discovery-empowering the coachee to grow;
