CARE Academy Introduces Fierce Conversations

Through this instructor-led program at Atlanta headquarters (and in the field upon request), you’ll learn how to ignite productive dialogue that interrogates reality, provokes learning, resolves tough challenges and enriches relationships.

Fierce Conversations, a new CARE Academy course, will be offered as three half-day modules, and as a two-day workshop available to headquarters and field units upon request.

Who should attend? The course is geared toward CARE managers, although all headquarters and field staff are welcome to participate.

How can I take the course? Fierce Conversations will be offered as three half-day modules, and as a two-day workshop available to headquarters and field units upon request. The training will be offered by certified CARE staff who completed a train-the-trainer session in early May.

Tuition: $100/attendee for all three modules, payable in advance. (Note: tuition cannot be split between modules.) Tuition includes materials and facilitation; meals, travel, lodging and translation services are not included.

THREE HALF-DAY MODULES

Fierce 1: Team Conversation Module This half-day module will transform your team, as you learn how to make high-stakes decisions, resolve recurring problems, design effective strategies and evaluate opportunities; create an open, respectful atmosphere; inspire original thinking and big ideas; and get your team on board and ready to act.

Fierce 2: Coaching Conversation and Delegation Conversation Modules During this half-day module, a Coaching Conversations session will help you learn how to surface and address issues critical to the success and happiness of your staff, while a Delegation Conversations session will help you ensure that your staff’s development paths are clear and that staff members are on track to accomplish goals.

Fierce 3: Confrontation Conversation Module This half-day module focuses on helping you discover how to enrich relationships while effectively addressing attitudinal, behavioral or performance issues with others. You’ll discover how to confront tough issues with confidence and skill; overcome barriers to meaningful conversations; enrich your most challenging relationships; handle strong emotion (your own, as well as others); and create impetus for change.

TWO-DAY WORKSHOP

Upon request, CARE Academy will facilitate a two-day Fierce Conversations workshop for any interested headquarters unit, regional management unit or country office.
