 When is orientation and how can I access orientation if I am not in Atlanta?

For CARE USA employees there are 3 parts to Orientation:

Part 1: The Basics

When: Every other Monday at 9:30 am

Where: HR Conference Room, 2nd Floor

Part 2: The Organization

When: Every 2nd Tuesday of the month at 9:30 am

Where:  HR Conference Room, 2nd Floor

Part 3: CARE Online Courses (www.careacademy.org)

All CARE employees are required to take the following e-learning courses on CARE Academy:

·         Addressing Poverty & Social Injustice

·         Gender Equity and Diversity Basics

·         CARE - 2012 Staff Safety and Security Awareness

·         Workplace Harassment - USA Based Staff Only

 

How do I sign up for CARE Academy?

·         Go to www.careacademy.org and click on “Register Here” located on the top-right side of the screen.

·         Be sure to disable your pop-up blocker by holding down the “Control” key when you click the link.

·         The CARE Academy Registration Profile will appear. Fill in the registration form and submit by clicking on "Register Profile." Use a CARE email address so we can confirm you are a CARE Employee. (USE PIN given to you in Part 1: the Basics)

·         You will now see the message "Registration Successful." Click on "Enroll in a course" and follow the instructions in Step 5 below.

·         Go back to www.careacademy.org. On the bottom of the page, type your login (e-mail address) and password (created during registration) in the “Returning Student” section on the left of the screen.

·         If you do not remember your password, e-mail careacademy@care.org to request it.

·         Click the “login” button. Be sure to disable your pop-up blocker by holding down the “Control” key when you click "login".

·         To take a course you have already enrolled in, click on the title of the course you wish to take. You can always check the courses you are already enrolled in by clicking on “My Courses.”

·         To add a course, click on the “Add Courses” link on the left side of the screen and follow the online instructions.

 

When do I have access to the Employee Self Service and Personnel Activity Reporting (PARS)?

After you submit all necessary paperwork, you will be set up in the system to access these items within the next 2 weeks. Employee Self Service is CARE’s online employee information management system. Here you can:

·         Check your benefits

·         Update your personal information

·         Search for Colleagues

·         Record your time entry

·         Access your performance and development plan

PARS is the system in which you record your time each for each time period. During the time you do not have access; you will need to complete time sheets. Contact the HR Service Center for the time sheet.  For questions on your PARS email PAR-TimeEntry@care.org

 

When will my benefits become active?   

Your benefits are active and effective on your new hire date.  However, it can take up to 2 weeks for you to see your benefits in the Employee Self Service system.

 

How/when do I access my benefits card?  

It may take 1-2 weeks from the date you are entered in the system to receive your card.  If you are able to log into CIGNA’s website (www.mycigna.com), you can always print a temporary card from the website.

 

   How do I track my Paid Time Off (PTO)?

Please visit the Portal to obtain a Paid Time Off Tracking Form (search: PTO Form 2013).  Each department maintains a tracking system. Talk to your manager to find out from where or how PTO is managed in your unit.

 

Where can I find my employee number?

Once you have access to Employee Self Service you can find your Employee ID Number by clicking on ‘Employment' and then ‘Job Profile.’
