Accountability – hold self and others accountable and promote a culture of accountability throughout the organization.

Annual Operating Plan (AOP) –List of global priorities and related goals, explanations and expected measures of success based on the fiscal year (July 1- June 30).

Change Agility - (component of learning agility) people who are curious, have a passion for ideas, like to experiment with test cases, and engage in skll building activities.

Compliance - conforming with stated requirements.

Development of others – foster the growth and development of others, build relationships, communicate effectively and strengthen processes to achieve results.

electronic Annual Performance Agreement and Assessment (e-APAA/CARE Total Performance) -  mechanism that enables you and your direct report to set annual goals related to the organizational goals or to their job description, and to monitor their performance against these goals. 

Learning agility - the ability, willingness and opportunity to learn how to deal effectively with first-time experiences: successes, failures and exposures.

Manager - a person who supervise others and monitors resources and expenditures.

Mental agility - (component of learning agility) people who think through problems from a fresh point of view and are comfortable with complexity, ambiguity and explaining their thinking to others

PARS – Personnel Activity Reports - mandatory process facilitated through CARE's Employee Self Service where all compensated time by CARE staff must be reported to finance.

People agility - (component of learning agility) people who know themselves well, learn from experience, treat others constructively, and are cool and resilient under the pressures of change.

Performance Objectives – List of individual goals, explanation, expected results and date of completion as they relate to your units/department goals and CARE’s overall plan.

Relationship management – manage your actions with others to achieve a good result.

Restricted Resources - money or other resources allocated to a specific project or program that cannot be used on anything else.

Results agility - (component of learning agility) people who get results under tough conditions, inspire others to perform beyond normal, and exhibit the sort of presence that builds confidence in others.

Self awareness – recognize own feelings as they happen.

Self management – manage own emotions/reactions to achieve a good result.

Social awareness – be attuned to others’ needs, wants and emotions.

STAP - Staff Talent Assessment Planning - process in which a committee conducts an analysis of CARE’s pipeline of talent, identify upcoming movements, and discuss key talent & development opportunities for staff.  The same committee is also responsible for reviewing hiring decisions for senior-level placements in the US and internationally, and may be required to make final decisions in some cases based on overarching organizational need.

Ubora - CARE's Organizational Performance and Learning System, named for the Swahili word meaning "excellence".

Unrestricted Resources – are contributions made by donor without condition attached. The funds are available for use toward any purpose and typically used to cover operating expenses of the organization. Contributions may be in the form of cash, securities, other property, as well as unconditional promises to give assets at a later date.
